Hair transplant explained.
From the hair ring at the back of the head, hair roots are removed hair-by-hair (FUE) or removed by means of a strip of skin with hair roots (FUT) and optically invisibly sutured using the 'invisible-scar' technique (Trichophytic closure). All hair roots (grafts) are placed by experienced nurses in the minuscule skin channels that have been created by the hair surgeon in the bald and thin-haired area.
The hair follicles that we transplant come from the so-called hair ring (donor area). This is part of the permanent body hair, which is normally retained for life. The hair follicles from the hair ring are insensitive to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which causes hair follicles to die prematurely. This allows us to guarantee that all hair will continue to grow for life.
After 14 days, aftercare follows and there are no more visible traces of an intervention. The transferred hair is guaranteed to grow after a few weeks and after 1 year the final result is achieved.
